This session will present the process DeltaBahn used for merging a 2007 and a 2010 instance into a single 2010 instance at a major oilfield services company. We will cover the process we used to:
Analyze the merging\reconciling the custom fields, security, views and reports
Preparing the data for the merge
Performing the required extracts of data that was be used
Merging the data from the two instances
Performing the required post-merge configuration
It will also provide a sample schedule for managing the preparation and cutover schedule and a sample checklist for managing the planning and the merge process.

The objective is to provide participants an example process for merging a 2007 and a 2010 instance of Project Server into 1 2010 instance as efficiently as possible to highlight the areas on which to focus and the possible stumbling blocks other organizations might face in performing such a merge.
